Medical Services

A variety of health care services are available at Bethel Family Clinic from treating a lingering cold to offering preventative services.

Preventive services typically fall into four categories: screening, counseling to reduce risk, providing immunizations, and giving general health guidance.

Dental risk assessment before one year of age can help to identify children who are at risk for development of dental disease. Primary care providers can begin performing a dental screening examination as soon as the first teeth erupt, usually when the child is between five and eight months of age, and identify potential concerns which can then be referred to the Dentist.

Immunization is one of the most effective preventive health measures.  The number of vaccine preventable illnesses has decreased by more than 90%.  Vaccines are throughout the lifespan.  Please call Bethel Family Clinic to learn your vaccine status and if any are recommended.

Screening for colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, hypertension, cholesterol and diabetes is essential to good health.  Identifying and treating these diseases can reduce the risk for heart attack, stroke and early death.  There is no better time than the present to be screened.

Bethel Family Clinic offers a variety of women’s health screening.  Recommendation to begin cervical cancer screening is age 21.  Early identification and treatment has shown to decrease the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer.

A variety of birth control options are available at Bethel Family Clinic.  The various types available can be discussed with your Primary Care Provider.  Some of the options include Nexplanon, oral contraceptives and injectable.  The CDC provides an excellent chart showing the effectiveness of various birth control measures.  It can be seen at:

Bethel Family Clinic contains a small dispensary. We carry many commonly used medications. Most insurances do not cover medications that are given out by us because we are not a pharmacy. We generally do not supply patients with chronic medications.

We collaborate with commercial pharmacies in Anchorage to deliver medicines to our patients. Prescriptions ordered on an expedited basis usually arrive within 24 hours. Medicines mailed from Anchorage arrive in two or three days.

Patients using the commercial pharmacies are expected to develop an account with the pharmacy, usually via a credit card. The pharmacy then bills the patient and/or the patient’s insurance for the pharmacy services.

Bethel Family Clinic is proud to announce the availability of Telemedicine for our patients.  A Telemedicine appointment is Bethel Family Clinics way of ensuring that we can always be available for our neighbors and community during this difficult time with COVID-19.

Telemedicine allows for patient care to take place without the need for an in-person visit.

Third-party payers (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance) consider telemedicine services to be of sufficiently high quality as in person visits. Primary care providers are still able to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients utilizing various forms of technology.

There is no download required.  Simply use your PC, Mac, Android or IOS device with either Chrome, Firefox or Safari.  A link will be made available.

All data is encrypted, your sessions are anonymous, and none of your information is stored. We adhere to HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR data privacy requirements.

To schedule your Telemedicine appointment please call Bethel Family Clinic at 543-3773.
